WAEC blacklists 13 Kogi schools, 14 supervisors for exam malpractices

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has blacklisted 13 schools and 14 supervisors in Kogi State for various degrees of examination malpractices in the 2023/2024 West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination in the State.

The Commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones, disclosed this when he met with some principals of the blacklisted schools and supervisors.

Warning that the government will sanction school principals, teachers, and supervisors who engaged in or aided examination malpractices in the state, the commissioner reiterated that examination malpractices remained a criminal offence.

Jones, who said a committee headed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary would be constituted to investigate those indicted by WAEC, restated the resolve of the state government to ensure the prosecution of persons involved in examination malpractices.
