Senate extends validity of JAMB results

From the Senate in Abuja, good news has come for university admission seekers nationwide. The upper legislative chmaber has passed into law, a Bill for an Act to amend the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Act 2016.

The unnanimous nod by the Senate followed the laying of the report of the committee on tertiary education heaed by Senator Jibril Barau.

In his ruling, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki said the amended Act shall be “a great relief for both students and parents as it will reduce their financial and psychological burdens.”

The Act, among other things, supports that JAMB applicants who could not gain admission into their institution of choice for the examination year could be offered admission the following year with the same JAMB result, but not exceeding a period of 3 years.
