The police in Delta State have arrested a lady for dumping her 10-month-old baby in the river.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this through a statement in Warri.
The police spokesman said: “Here is a lady who threw her 10-month-old baby into the river.”
“When I asked her why she did it, she said her friends and other women abuse and shame her that the child does not have a father, and that’s the reason she threw the baby away,” Edafe said.
SP Edafe added: ”That’s not a justification for her action, but we should also be mindful of what we say to people.”
