Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano, has raised the hope that detectives are on the trail, and will soon arrest the gunman that invaded and killed 12 persons in a church in Ozubulu last Sunday.
The tragic incident occurred at the Saint Philip’s Catholic Church, Ozubulu, Anambra State.
The Governor revealed this in Abuja on Friday at the National Headquarters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
He said the target of the attack was a business partner of the alleged gunman mowed innocent people down during a church service. He further revealed that the target’s father was murdered in the attack.
He said: “We are taking precautions; we have a lead and the police have made some arrests and we are very confident that we will resolve the matter very soon.”
He continued: “We can’t use that singular incident to judge the state. We have stopped kidnapping, assassinations and all that in the state. So, whichever way you look at it, we remain a safe state,” the governor reiterated.
