Arochukwu COVID-19 Task Force reformed

* For more effective performance

The COVID-19 Task Force in Arochukwu Local Government Area has been reformed, to place it in good stead for the challenges of the recent protocols enunciated by the Abia State government. 

The duties of the Task Force include ensuring strict compliance with, and enforcement of the following:

1. Wearing of face masks, 

2. Maintaining social distancing, 

3. Regular washing of hands with soap and running water, 

4. Ensure that churches comply with the government’s directives as regards worship; with not more than 50 persons. Night vigils, midweek services and children’s Sunday Schools are prohibited, 

5. Ensure that market places comply with all the COVID-19 protocols, 

6. Transporters enjoined to carry required number of passengers at all times. Offender as will be prosecuted in the mobile court, 

7. They are to monitor places of burials to ensure compliance with government directives on burials. 

In his speech during the inauguration of the team, the Council Chairman, Mazi Emmanuel Jideofor Kanu, advised the operatives to discharge their duties with all sense of responsibility, honesty, commitment and sincerity of purpose.

The Task Force is divided into four zones, namely: Arochukwu clan, Abam clan, Ihechiowa clan, Ututu/Isu clans to ensure effective and efficient operations. 

Those that witnessed the reformation of the Task Force on COVID-19 included the Deputy T.C Chairman, Chief Dan Ogbuagu, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Arochukwu and his team, the Directorate of Security Services (DSS), the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the Secretary of the Council of Ndi Eze in Arochukwu LGA, Eze Okorafor Uroh Okorafor.
