Nigeria’s Haruna Quadri has attributed his emergence as champion of the men’s
singles in the recently concluded Polish open, International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) held in Poland, as a result of hard work having learnt from his previous losses.
He said his loss at the Bulgarian open as well as the Nigerian open, pushed him to go the extra mile in order to prove his critics wrong.
Winning the Men’s single title has made him the first African to
achieve such a feat outside the shores of Africa and has also improved
his ranking on the ITTF table. The latest ranking is expected to be released before the end of the year.
Quadri said he has already started preparations for the Table Tennis World Cup coming up in Liege, Belgium, later in the year.
