Zamfara State governor, Dauda Lawal, has reaffirmed his administration’s refusal to negotiate with bandits, declaring that the government will continue its offensive against criminal groups until they surrender or are brought to justice.
The governor’s Chief of Staff, Mukhtar Musa, said this on Sunday during the inauguration of the Secretariat of the Association of Zamfara State Indigenes Residing in Kaduna State.
Musa said that Governor Lawal’s administration remains committed to addressing insecurity through sustained collaboration with security agencies and consistent support for ongoing security operations across the State.
According to him, the government will continue to provide logistics, operational equipment and other necessary support to security personnel engaged in the fight against banditry.
“The governor will never negotiate with bandits. Those willing to surrender should do so or face the law,” Musa stated.
He added that the government’s resolve to combat insecurity remains unwavering, stressing that military and security operations against criminal elements would continue until peace is fully restored across Zamfara State.
Musa also called on residents to play an active role in the fight against insecurity by providing credible intelligence and promptly reporting suspicious activities to security agencies.
He assured citizens that the Lawal administration would continue pursuing policies aimed at restoring security while simultaneously implementing development projects across the State.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Association of Zamfara State Indigenes Residing in Kaduna, Garba Balarabe, described the commissioning of the association’s secretariat as a significant achievement for Zamfara indigenes living in Kaduna State.
He said the facility would strengthen unity among members and serve as a platform for promoting the welfare and interests of Zamfara residents outside their home state.
The event attracted government officials, traditional rulers, political leaders, community representatives and members of the association from Kaduna, Abuja and other parts of the country.
