Plateau State governor, Barr Caleb Mutfwang, has approved the payment of “13th month salary” to the civil servants, to avail them a more joyful Christmas and New Year celebration.
The governor, according to his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, also directed the immediate payment of end-of-the-year bonuses to public and civil servants in the State.
Reports said it is the first time in the history of Plateau State that a government is paying workers 13th-month salary.
The largesse is said to be a testament to Governor Mutfwang’s desire to implement policies that enhance the welfare of government workers.
The governor, according to the Press Director, seized the opportunity to wish the workers and all residents of the State Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance.
