Operatives of the Yobe State Hisbah Commission have arrested six women suspected of engaging in commercial sex work.
Reports said the operation was carried out recently in the Abuja area of Gadaka by operatives of the commission’s Fika Local Government Area command.
The Head of Administration of the Commission in Fika LGA, Malam Musa Abari Talba, reportedly said the exercise also targeted bars suspected of selling and processing alcoholic drinks.
According to him, Hisbah officials also conducted sensitisation campaigns during the operation, warning residents against activities considered contrary to religious and moral values.
