Wike dares PDP to expel him from party

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he cannot lose sleep over threat by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to expel him from its fold.

He dared the party to carry out the threat, vowing to respond appropriately to such action.

The governor said he will show his true colour if the PDP tries it.

Wike spoke on Friday during a State banquet in honour of G-5 governors in Port Harcourt.

The G-5 comprising governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo State); Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia State); Samuel Ortom (Benue State); Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu State) and Wike are demanding the resignation of the party’s National chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, for fairness and equity as a condition to support Atiku Abubakar os its presidential candidate  in the 2023 elections.

They are in Port Harcourt for flag off of the PDP campaign in Rivers on Saturday.

The governor said: “They say they will sack me. I have been looking for the day they will sack me. Then they sack me, I pepper you. You will know that khaki no be leather”.

He insisted that the G5 governors remain united and could not be broken, as they are bonded to save Nigeria.

Ortom said the G5 was committed to equity, fairness and justice.

He commended Wike for using project commissioning to unite the country.

Makinde said he remains a proud member of the G5 while Ugwuanyi insisted they are united for justice.
