What Buhari told governors, by Yari

From President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday came commendation for the 36 state governors for holding the country together in his absence.

He also thanked the governors for their cooperation with the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and urged them to continue to put their faith in his leadership.

This was disclosed to the governors by the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari during the Forum’s meeting in Abuja.

According governor Yari, the President’s message was in response to the visit of a delegation of the Forum to him.

He said: “I was invited to select six governors, one from each geo political region, to visit Mr . President and I led them to London.

“The governors are Akwa Ibom, Oyo, Kano, Benue, and Kashim of Borno State, with the last, but by no means the least person in the delegation, being Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State.

“President Buhari appreciates what we (governors) are doing to hold the country together in his absence.

“He also asked us to continue to work in harmony with the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and to believe in his leadership abilities.”

The NGF Chairman and six others departed the country on “a goodwill visit” to President Muhammadu Buhari in London on July 26.
