We’re waiting for Saraki’s directive to leave APC – Kwara Gov, Ahmed

Kwara State governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has declared that there is no more hope in All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of 2019 elections, saying they are only waiting for directives from Senate President Bukola Saraki on which direction to go.

The governor said this on Thursday in Ilorin, during the stakeholders meeting of various interest groups in the State, which included market women, youths, local government council chairmen, artisans among others in Ilorin.

Ahmed said: “We are only waiting for our leader, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, to give us the new direction and hope so that we can move forward.

It is disheartening to note that all our expectations and aspirations that made us to defect to APC from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2014 are not met.”

The governor said the meeting was convened to enable the stakeholders brainstorm on the way forward, adding: “We want all of you to make contributions so as to agree in unity on which party we will move into without any hindrance.”

One of the youth leaders at the meeting, Alhaji Ali Baba, said they belong to the Saraki political structure and not to the ideals or ideology of any political party in the State, adding that they are ready to move to another party he would lead them to.
“Please, take us to where our welfare will be guaranteed and our expectations will be met as we belong to Saraki in Kwara, not any political party,” he concluded.
