Unarmed robbers: Why we won’t reply Obasanjo – Senate

The Senate has resolved to ignore former president Olusegun Obasanjo, who earlier referred to members of the National Assembly as a bunch of ‘unarmed robbers’.

The red chamber particularly said the house was not prepared as an institution to waste time replying the ex-president for calling members of both chambers unarmed robbers.

It however asked the former President to return his Presidential Library to the Federal Government, noting that it was built with public fund.

Obasanjo had at an event on Thursday in Ibadan described National Assembly members as ‘unarmed robbers’.

Reacting, however, Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, who described the former President as controversial, said Obasanjo deserved no reply.

He said: “He is too controversial to deserve a reply. Let him return his Presidential Library to the Federal Government because clearly, it was built with public funds.”
