* As bandits kill 3, abduct 30 others in fresh church attack
Troops of the Nigerian Army deployed at Kwaga village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State have neutralised two terrorists during an ambush operation.
The troops also recovered some arms and equipment, including two AK-47 rifles, three rifle magazines, one Baofeng radio, and three motorcycles used by the terrorists during the encounter.
A statement by the Nigerian Army on its social media handle said the troops ambushed the terrorists while transiting along the Birnin Gwari-Manini axis.
“Following a firefight, troops neutralised two terrorists, while others fled in disarray,” it added.
Meanwhile, three people were feared killed and 30 others kidnapped after bandits attacked a church service in the Bakinpah-Maro community of Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday.
Although the police authorities were yet to comment, a former chairman of Kajuru LGA, Cafra Caino, who confirmed the incident, said 30 persons were kidnapped.
He said that the terrorists, who arrived around 10:00am in large numbers, targeted an ECWA and Catholic Church.
Among those abducted is Bernard Gajera, a Pastor from one of the churches.
Last month, Maro community had raised funds to build a security post for law enforcement as part of efforts to attract more security personnel, following repeated attacks that have kept farmers from their fields.
