- Amid alleged lavish lifestyle
The Executive Chairman of Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Zacch Adedeji, has defended President Bola Tinubu against allegations that public officials live lavishly despite the economic hardship buffeting Nigerians.
Adedeji said Tinubu does not maintain an extravagant lifestyle, despite occupying the highest political office in the country.
He made the claim while appearing on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, where he was questioned about the lifestyle of political office holders amid the rising cost of living and economic pressures confronting Nigerians.
Responding to questions about the President’s movements and reported use of luxury vehicles, Adedeji said Tinubu typically walks from his residence to his office and only uses a vehicle when travelling to the airport.
He also claimed that the President eats only once a day, citing the details as evidence that Tinubu does not live lavishly.
