Terrorists burn down 2 schools in Chibok community

Suspected members of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist gangs, on Saturday, invaded Kautikari village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, setting primary and day secondary schools ablaze.

The village has recorded a series of deadly Boko Haram attacks in recent years.

Reports quoting local sources said the incident, which occurred at about 7pm on Saturday, forced residents to flee the community into the bush for safety. Details were not immediately available.

“Yes, I can confirm to you that our village (Kautikari) in the Chibok Local Government Area is under Boko Haram attack.

“Our people are scampering for safety, even as two schools (primary and day secondary school) are on fire,” a local resident was quoted to have said.

The police could not be reached immediately for confirmation of the situation.
