Suspect swallows 87 wraps of cocaine, arrested by NDLEA

A suspected drug trafficker – Ibeh Kenneth Ejike – has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja for allegedly swallowing 87 wraps of cocaine.

Spokesman of the agency, Mr. Femi Babafemi, announced in a statement in Abuja that the 41-year-old suspect was arrested on August 25 on arrival on board an Ethiopian Airline flight 911 from Kigali, Rwanda via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He was subsequently taken in arrival for secondary check during which he allegedly tested positive to ingestion for illicit substances.

According to the statement, while under observation, the suspect excreted 87 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.884kg.

Ibeh, who imports clothing material for sale, hails from Owerrizikeala village in Orumba Local Government Area of Anambra State, the statement added.

Babafemi also disclosed that a Lagos-based drug dealer, Eze Celestine Okorie, was arrested following the interception of 4.15kg of methamphetamine consignment going to London, the United Kingdom at the NAHCO export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on August 13.
