The National Association of Seadogs (NAS) aka Pyrates Confraternity, has urged President Bola Tinubu to address the spate of attacks and killings in Plateau State.
In a statement titled “The Bloodshed on the Plateau Must Stop, ” NAS Capoon, Abiola Owoaje, expressed solidarity with the victims and called for swift justice. Owoaja criticized the persistently ineffective security architecture in Nigeria, particularly the centrally- controlled policing system.
Owoaja regretted that the joint security teams in Plateau State failed to prevent criminals from wreaking havoc for three consecutive days.
Drawing parallels with former President Muhammadu Buhari, Owoaja accused Tinubu’ s presidency of displaying a lukewarm attitude towards insecurity.
Calling for a shift from the centralized policing system, Owoaja urged President Tinubu to champion the establishment of a State Police. He gaulted Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, over his response to the killings and advised him to emulate the South- West region by establishing a local vigilante network to address insecurity.

The NAS Capoon urged Tinubu to take proactive measures to end the brutality, emphasizing that mere condemnations and directives to security agencies are insufficient. Owoaja called for a sincere and frank discussion with stakeholders to resolve the underlying herders/farmers’ conflict causing violence in Plateau State.
