The Anambra State Police Command has announced plans to deploy 60 ‘Safe School Operatives’ to designated centers for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations taking place from April 15 to April 26, 2026.
The purpose of this deployment is to monitor the examination centres and ensure safety, security, and orderliness throughout the examination period.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, announced this in a statement to the press in Awka, the State capital.
Ikenga stated that the deployment will be coordinated from operational bases located within the eight Police Area Commands in the state and will be supervised by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo.
He explained that the initiative forms part of the Command’s proactive measures under the Safe School Initiative, aimed at providing a secure environment for candidates, invigilators, and examination officials, while also preventing any form of malpractice, disruption, or security breach.
Ikenga stated that the Command reassures the public of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
He urged candidates and other stakeholders to remain law-abiding and to cooperate fully with security personnel deployed for the exercise.
