The candidate of the main opposition political party in the country, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bala Mohammed, has even declared winner of the governorship supplementary election held on Saturday in Bauchi State.
At the end of collation of results, the State Returning Officer, Professor Kyari Mohammed, declared that the PDP polled a total of 6,376 votes to defeat the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the incumbent Governor Mohammed Abdullahi, who polled a total of 5,117 votes with the difference between the two as 1,259.
The supplementary election done with, it is expected that there will be a declaration of the governorship election within the week after the pending legal battle presently before a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Incumbent governor, Mohammed Abubakar, had dragged INEC to court to challenge the decision of the electoral body directing the continuation of collation of results of the area, having earlier declared same as inconclusive.
Judgement on the matter is scheduled to be delivered on Monday, March 25.
