Party primary: Consider your children’s future while voting, Ohuabunwa urges PDP delegates

A leading contender for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has enjoined delegates to the party’s national convention to be futuristic in their choice of the presidential candidate for the 2023 election.

The presidential hopeful made the appeal through the Director-General of Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa Presidential Campaign Organisation, Hon. John Kome, in a memo to the delegates dated May 18, 2022.

Kome wrote: “The important moment we are waiting for is here as our great party, PDP holds its primary to elect who will be our presidential candidate in the 2023general elections.

“In this contest for the presidential ticket, the future of Nigeria is at stake, and how that future will turn out, for good or for bad, lies in the hands of you esteemed delegates.

“If the future of our dear nation is at stake, then you are the first stakeholders in these primaries. You can help the PDP back to power to recover our battered country if you use your delegate power wisely and selflessly.

“Which is why we at the Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa Presidential Campaign are here making a passionate appeal to you, to let the future of Nigeria, best interest of Nigerians and your own conscience guide you in your decisions.

“To be sure, this primary is a contest between selfish ambition to rule and selfless vision to lead; between big name in politics and high competence in leadership; between padded antecedents and all-round experience; between political baggage and proven integrity; and between big pockets and big conscience. Our candidate, Mazi Sam, belongs to the latter.”

Specifically, Kome appealed to the delegates to identify with progress anchored on sincerity, saying: “Distinguished delegates, please support and vote Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa for the sake of Nigeria’s future and that of our children…”

Kome further assured the delegates that Ohuabunwa has the vision and blueprint to build a new Nigeria where prosperity, justice, integrity and security reign, adding that he is spiritually, physically and mentally fit for the challenge.
