Former governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff on Thursday held a meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Sheriff arrived Osinbajo’s office at about 3:30pm, and the duo held their discussions behind closed door.
Osinbajo went into the closed-door meeting with Sheriff shortly after presiding over a meeting of the National Economic Management Team.
Sheriff is a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He defected to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and was until recently chairman of the opposition party.
While in the PDP, his critics accused him of being a mole sent by the APC to destabilize the party. He fought tooth and nail to remain the party’s chairman until the Supreme Court removed him in June this year.
Recently, Sheriff was reportedly approached by some APC stakeholders to return to the party.
Meanwhile, the PDP has suspended Chairman of Capital Oil and Gas, Mr. Ifeanyi Ubah.
Similarly, the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial district, Buruji Kashamu has been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee.
Kashamu has lately been feuding with Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the former governor of Ogun State with accusation of sinsiter plot flying up and down.
