Obi at Baze varsity’s 11th convocation, lauds Baba-Ahmed’s commitment to education

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, graced the investiture of his running mate Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, as the 3rd Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baze University in Abuja.

Obi praised Baba-Ahmed’s contributions to education and healthcare, highlighting his establishment of both Baze University and Baba-Ahmed University in Kano.

The event coincided with Baze University’s 11th Convocation Ceremony, where Obi congratulated the graduating class and expressed his hope for a “productive Nigeria” where their contributions would be valued.

Meanwhile, the Obedient Movement, a key supporter of Obi, has set its sights on the 2027 presidential election, expressing confidence in Obi’s ability to secure victory.

The movement’s National Coordinator, Dr. Tanko Yunusa, cited Obi’s “pedigree and antecedent” as key factors in their optimism.

Yunusa emphasized the need for electoral reform, increased polling unit agents, and an independently appointed INEC chairman to prevent a repeat of alleged electoral fraud in 2023.

He also stated that President Bola Tinubu’s failures across different regions of Nigeria have created an opportunity for Obi to lead the country in 2027.

A prominent voice in the movement, Professor Pat Utomi, echoed Yunusa’s sentiments, emphasizing the need for a “formidable movement” like the Obedient Movement to achieve positive change.

“This movement is about sacrifice,” Utomi stated, adding that, “together we can make Nigeria a new one.”

The Obidient Movement, during its Good Governance Symposium in Onitsha, Anambra State, outlined its plans to strengthen and reposition for greater impact, particularly in the Southeast region.

This move underscores the movement’s commitment to securing a victory for Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.
