Supporters of sacked Imo State governor Emeka Ihedioha have resorted to prayers ahead of Monday’s review of the Supreme Court judgment.
They have so far held interdenominational prayer session in Owerri, to seek the face of God in the matter.
The prayer, which held at the Nwankwo Kanu Sports Complex, was officiated by Ven. Echi Nwogu; Rev. Fr. Wence Isiguzo, and Pastor Rostand Amadi respectively of the Anglican, Catholic and Pentecostal churches.
They thanked God and the Supreme Court for giving Ihedioha and the State a second chance by agreeing to review the judgment. The supported also prayed that Ihedioha succeeds in the court on Monday. The prayer lasted about three hours.
Ven. Nwogu said: “We thank God for a second chance. I know that’s the source of your happiness. I know the source of your happiness is because God has heard your prayers.
“It’s because your governor is returning back to the Government House. What we are experiencing is spiritual and not tribalism, ethnicity nor political.
“It’s because having won on March 9, 2019, we forgot God in our victory and decided to do what we liked. This should serve as a lesson to all of us when we return.”
