IGP deploys 38 CPs in sweeping nationwide shake-up

In an effort to strengthen security operations nationwide, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved a sweeping deployment of 38 Commissioners of Police (CPs) across various State commands and police formations.

The strategic shake-up, aimed at enhancing intelligence-led policing, sees nine CPs taking charge of key State commands, while 29 others have been reassigned to crucial formations.

Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

The newly appointed CPs include CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba (Zamfara), CP Bretet Emmanuel Simon (Taraba), CP Christopher Ado Emmanuel (Yobe), CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin (Cross River), CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman (Niger), CP Sani Omolori Aliyu (Bauchi), CP Bello Shehu (Katsina), CP Saka Adewale Ajao (FCT), and CP Ojo Adekimi (Kwara).

According to the IGP, this deployment is a calculated step to combat the nation’s escalating security threats and enhance police effectiveness.

The 29 other CPs assigned to police formations will be tasked with implementing tactical strategies to reinforce public safety.

IGP Egbetokun has charged the newly deployed officers to uphold professionalism, intensify intelligence gathering, and proactively address insecurity in their respective jurisdictions.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining law and order through modern policing techniques.
