Hardship: Ogun monarch urges Tinubu to reopen borders

The Eselu of Eselu Kingdom in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, has called on President Bola Tinubu to ease the present economic hardship experienced by citizens by opening all borders in the country for the importation of goods.

He said this has become necessary considering the level of hunger and poverty in the country.

Oba Akinyemi, who made the call during the inauguration of the new executive members of the Integrity Obas Forum, advised the government to be mindful of policies that could jeopardize the country.

He charged the new executive to allow transparency and accountability be their watchword, adding that they should live and act by their name which is integrity.

On the implementation of the new National minimum wage, Oba Eselu pleaded with the Federal government for quick implementation of the new salary structure for Nigerian workers, commending Governor Dapo Abiodun for holding meetings with labour leaders in the state for quick payment of the N70,000 minimum wage for state workers.
