Abia State governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has sent his condolences to the family, friends and fans of Mr. Alex Ikenna Ekubo, the Arochukwu, Abia-born actor and entertainer, who passed away last week.
In his condolence message mourning the young and enterprising actor, Governor Otti expressed sadness that Ekubo passed away when his artistic works and humanitarian activities were just unfolding, given his young age.
The governor noted that his impact inspired many young persons to dream and achieve in the entertainment industry.
Governor Otti, who as a bank chief executive, sponsored and supported the Nollywood industry – which Ekubo belonged – with a view to identifying talents, regretted that his demise has created a vacuum and setback to Nollywood.
He, however, expressed delight that Ekubo’s friends and family stood by him and managed his situation well as he battled ill health.
The governor, while urging Abians, his family, friends and fans to bear the loss with fortitude, prayed God to grant his soul eternal repose.
Otti’s tribute was conveyed in a statement by Ferdinand Ekeoma, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
