A former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Victor Malu, has been reported dead.
Aged 70 years, Gen Malu served under the Presidency of Chief of Olusegun Obasanjo. He reportedly passed died in a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, on Sunday.
He suffered a stroke a couple of years ago, and was flown abroad for treatment. Consequently, he had remained reticent.
As COAS, Gen. Malu orchestrated the military invasion of Odi community in Bayelsa State following an ambush of his troops by a local militia based in the community.
Years later, and retired from the Army, he was to be served the bitter pill when the military invaded his community in Benue State and allegedly destroyed his ancestral home.
