*Anambra Assembly, ex-gov Peter Obi, Sen Ifeanyi Ubah hail gov-elect
Anambra State House of Assembly has congratulated Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on his victory at the just concluded Anambra governorship election.
In a congratulatory message on Thursday in Awka, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr. Uche Okafor, described Soludo’s victory as expected and deserved.
Okafor said the outcome of the governorship election is a reflection of good governance in the State.
“On behalf of the State Assembly, I congratulate Prof. Chukwuma Soludo on his victory at the poll which was a result of hard work and steadfastness of the leadership of APGA in the State.
“His victory is also as a result of the achievements and successes recorded so far by the Willie Obiano-led administration.
“We urge other political parties that contested in the election to see the outcome as the will of God and join hands in moving the state to greater heights,” he said.
While assuring the governor-elect of legislative support, the speaker urged him to use his wealth of experience to govern the State.
Earlier on Wednesday, Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2019 election, Mr. Peter Obi, congratulated Soludo on his victory.
Obi’s media aide, Valentine Obienyem, quoted the former governor as saying: “I congratulate Prof. Chukwuma Soludo on winning the gubernatorial election.
“I thank Anambrarians who braved all odds and came out to perform their civic duties. I urge them to support the in-coming Governor through prayers and other legitimate means to see that Anambra returns to her former glory as the ‘Light of the Nation’.”
Obi promised to continue committing the State into God’s hands for His will to be done at all times.
Also on Wednesday, candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, congratulated the governor-elect, Soludo.
Ubah, who represents Anambra South senatorial district, commended Soludo on his victory in the just-concluded governorship election.
The lawmaker declare that he will not challenge the election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He asked other candidates in the governorship race not to contest the results in court.
According to Ubah, the journey so far has not been that of roses, but one full of trials, triumphs, ups and downs.
