* Ex-Gov Gbenga Daniel mourns
The founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Otunba Subomi Balogun, has passed away.
The Olori Omoba of Ijebuland reportedly died in a London hospital on Friday morning.
Balogun, who was the Chairman of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), celebrated his 89th year birthday on March 9, 2023.
Meanwhile, a former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has expressed shock and sadness over the death of the business mogul.
Daniel described the late Balogun, who was until his death the Olori Omoba Otunba Tunwase of Ijebuland and Asiwaju of Ijebu Christians, as someone who “brought the fear of God into everything that he did and believed in.”
He also avowed that the deceased “united the body of Christ while promoting interfaith relationships in the entire Ijebuland to the best of his ability.”
“He was a man whom I have the greatest respect for, both in royalty and in the business world,” he said, noting that “Nigeria has indeed lost one of its illustrious sons.”
