Two Ekiti men identified as Adebiyi Olusola, 49 and Oguntola John, 30 have been sentenced to 30 days imprisonment for wandering around Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, without any clothing.

They were arraigned before Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti on one-count charge of conduct likely to cause breach of peace, contrary to Section 181 (1) (d) (h) of the Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021.

Both defendants, who were represented by their counsel, Ogunleye Abiola, pleaded guilty to the charge when read to them.

Delivering his judgment, Magistrate Abayomi Adosun said the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt coupled with accused persons guilty stance and sentenced them accordingly.

He, however, did not give the convicts any option of fine.

Earlier, police prosecutor, Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the convicts committed the offence on July 13, at about 4:00am at Palace Area, Ado-Ekiti, in the Ado Ekiti Magisterial District.

He said the duo wandered around the palace area and on the public highway naked and in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace.
