EFCC operatives in surprise visit Obi’s residence, polling unit

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Saturday, visited the Anambra home and polling unit of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

The officials, who reportedly arrived in Obi’s residence in an unmarked white Toyota Hiace bus, did not meet the candidate at home.

Reports further said they proceeded to Amatutu Ward 2, Polling Unit 019, at about 10:25 am.

The operatives did not grant interviews to journalists, and no reason was given for their visit.

However, leader of the EFCC team reportedly had a chat with the INEC officials at polling the unit, urging them to call the Commission’s helpline if they needed help.

The EFCC team lead also reportedly had a brief chat with Obi, who was on his way back from a tour of the village.

The team left the polling unit, promising to come back later.

Obi has since voted after waiting on the queue until it got to his turn.
