Speculations were rife Friday night that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) had arrested and detained the Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria’s Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), Mr. Abbas Masanawa,.
It was gathered that the NIRSAL boss, alleged to have been sacked, is currently in the custody of the DSS over the ongoing investigation of alleged crime.
While the circumstances trailing his detention were still sketchy as of Friday night, Masanawa was said to have been previously arrested, released, and recently rearrested by the secret police.
