The management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has officially issued a disclaimer outlawing payment for electricity meters by consumers to staff of the company.
The statement further said that meters are free and urged IBEDC’s customers to be vigilant, and avoid being hoodwinked by its staff or any other persons posing as staff of the company.
It said as ordered by NERC, payment for meters has been discontinued since the dissolution of CAPMI and any other similar independent metering plan, adding that the only official channel for getting meters is through its free meter rollout scheme.
IBEDC further reiterated its commitment in metering all its customers despite huge financial constraints. IBEDC is the franchised power distribution company for Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Kwara and parts of Niger, Ekiti and Kogi States.
