Ahead of the November 2 local government elections in Abia State, Labour Party (LP) stakeholders in Arochukwu Local Government Area (LGA) have elected chairmanship and councillorship candidates for the council polls.
The primary election was held on Friday, October 4, 2024, across all the wards, in an exercise described as “peaceful, free, fair, and credible, with all processes closely monitored by representatives of the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) and party stakeholders”.
At the end of the primary polls, the following candidates emerged to fly the LP flag in the upcoming elections.

Ikwun Ward – Okwudiri Kalu Okore
Eleoha Ward – Okezie N. Ogbuji
Ohafor Abam Ward I – Isaac Ike Okoroafor
Ohafor Abam Ward II – Abel Kalu Okwara
Ohaeke Ward – Agada Chijioke Kalu
Ovukwu Ward – Ikeogu Okpi
The result was jointly endorsed by the following officials:
