The Cross River State governor, Prof Ben Ayade, has made key political appointments to help the government provide adequate security for its residents.
The new appointments were announced in a statement issued in Calabar by the governor’s media aide, Mr. Christian Ita.
The statement read thus:
“Following the spate of boundary issues between the state and neighboring states as well as the threat to the territorial integrity of Cross River State, particularly from the Danare in Boki, Ikang and Bakassi axis, the Governor, His Excellency, Sir. Ben Ayade has approved the appointment of Surveyor Eyo Oku as the Chairman of the State Border Commission.
“Surveyor Oku, who until his appointment, was the State Surveyor General, is therefore, directed to handover as the Surveyor General to the most senior officer in the department, Mr. John Ada who now becomes the acting Surveyor General of the State.
“These appointments are with immediate effect,” the statement pointed out.
Also, the governor approved the appointment of the following persons, with immediate effect.
1. Mr. Bobby Effiom Ekpenyong – Managing Director Calabar Int’l Convention Centre (CICC))
2. Leo Inyambe
– State Security Adviser – North
3. Ransom Odey
– State Security Adviser – Central
4. Ani Esin
– State Security Adviser – South
5. Oko Sunday Ebeku aka Otolo – General Manager
– Waste Management
