Army nabs suspected IPoB informant spying on troops in Anambra

Nigerian Army troops have arrested a suspected informant feeding IPoB/ESN fighters with intel on security movements in Anambra State.

Operation UDO KA made the arrest at the weekend along Owerre-Ezukala axis, Umunze, Orumba South LGA, counter-insurgency outlet Zagazola Makama reported.

The patrol was a combined operation: Army troops worked with Nigeria Police Force, DSS operatives, and local vigilante groups to sweep the area.

Security sources told Makama that preliminary investigations revealed the suspect was allegedly providing intelligence to IPOB/ESN members about troop movements and operations in the zone.

After arrest, the suspect was handed over to local vigilante operatives for preliminary interrogation and profiling before further investigation.

Troops have maintained presence in Owerre-Ezukala to block reprisal attacks and sustain pressure on criminal networks.

Makama said security forces have ramped up intelligence-led operations across the Southeast to dismantle suspected IPOB/ESN cells and their support networks.
