Senator Ayogu Eze has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party most politicians are looking up to.
The former lawmaker made the assertion in Enugu on Saturday, during an interactive session with party leaders and stakeholders across the 17 local government areas of the party’s secretariat.
Senator Eze charged the party leaders to take advantage of the upcoming registration of new members and take their rightful position in the political cycle, with a view to forming the next government in the State.
The governorship candidate of the APC said: “APC is the party to watch, but we aren’t handling it as such.
“The other political parties look at us with a lot of respect but I doubt if we accord ourselves the same respect. Rather we fight each other, call parallel meetings, etc. We need to resolve in this New Year to move in the same direction.”
“We need to use the upcoming registration and mobilize massively for the party at the grassroots because the party is strong at the State level but weak at the grassroots and we must use this registration exercise to correct it.
“A new dawn is about to begin in APC Enugu State but we need to play our cards very well,” Senator Eze said.
He also thanked Barr. Ben Nwoye and his Executive members for the “thankless job they are doing” in keeping the party together.
He also encouraged the party chairman not to be distracted by what anyone says “because there’s going to be a new dawn in the party.”
High point of the meeting was the donation of food items and cash to the party leaders by the senator, to welcome them into the new year.
