Abia State government has agreed to meet with the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU), to address arrears of salary owed health workers.
JOHESU had issued a 15-day ultimatum to the government to pay arrears owed members of the union or risk shutdown of the health sector.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr. John Okiyi-Kalu, confirmed that the government would meet with the union leaders to address issues around the salary owed health workers.
