Abducted former minister Akwanga regains freedom

Former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Usaini Akwanga, has regained his freedom after three days in captivity.

Akwanga was abducted by gunmen at his farm on Wamba Road in Akwanga on Tuesday.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Abubakar Bello confirmed the development to Channels TV.

He said ex-minister has re-united with his family, friends and well wishers.

It could not be ascertained if ransom was paid before his release.

Ealier, the police in Nasarawa State had announced the arrest of five suspects in connection with the kidnap of the former Minister.

The suspects were nabbed after an intensive search and combing operation in one of the forests in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.

The former minister was kidnapped Tuesday by gunmen at his farm on Wamba Road in Akwanga.
