- Two lucky passengers swim to safety
Four person lost their lives on Saturday night, as a Hliux van plunged into Ososa River along the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode expressway.
The Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, confirmed this on Sunday.
The FRSC boss confirmed that six passengers were in the vehicle when the accident happened.
He said that two out of the six occupants swam to safety, while the other occupants drowned in the river.
The deceased were said to have been recovered with the support of local divers who were part of the rescue operation.
Fasakin said the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at a morgue in Ijebu-Ode, adding that the vehicle has been retrieved from the river.
The Sector Commander urged motorists to drive carefully to avoid unfortunate situations.
