TV personality Morayo justifies her exit from Harvesters Church

Television presenter, Morayo Afolabi-Brown, has explained why she left Harvesters International Christian Centre.

She said that a “painful breakup” was the major reason for her decision to leave the church.

During an episode of The Morayo Show with Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the popular TV personality talked about her early days at the church. She said it was the first church she attended after coming back to Nigeria.

Morayo said she was involved in church activities and served as the head usher at the time.

According to Morayo, she was in a relationship with another minister in the church, and they worked closely together.

But in the end, the relationship ended and she was left feeling hurt.

Morayo said it became hard for her to stay in the same church after the breakup.

She remembered that church leaders, including Pastor Bolaji Idowu, encouraged her to stay. She said they tried to convince her not to leave, even after the relationship was over.

She shared that she and her former partner used to attend ministers’ meetings together before they broke up.

After the breakup, she decided to leave the church rather than continue serving there.

She said: “Many of you don’t know that my very first church in Nigeria was Harvesters International. And I was head usher in that church. Yes. And I left because of a man. So what happened was that I was dating a minister in HICC. Both of us were really close. And then he broke up with me.

And then Pastor Bolaji was trying to get us to stay. We were in a ministers’ meeting and we had broken up. After that, Pastor Bolaji begged me not to go, but I left. That was the reason why I left. I left Harvesters Church because of a man. He broke up with me. We were both ministers at the church; I was the head usher, and he was a minister.”
