2027: APC dumps Adelabu, presents Alli to Tinubu as Oyo guber candidate

Chieftains and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, on Saturday evening, presented Senator Sharafadeen Alli to President Bola Tinubu, affirming him as the governorship candidate of the party.

Alli currently represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

Reports said the delegation was led by a former Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Adeyemo, who also doubles as the State Chairman of the party.

Adeyemo was accompanied by another former Deputy Governor, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, and a former Senator representing Oyo Central, Senator Ayoade Adeseun.

Others included Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, APC National Deputy Auditor, Mr. Gbenga Olayemi, and Mr. Soji Adedeji.

Reports further said that, during the meeting, the chieftains introduced Alli to Tinubu as the party’s governorship candidate.

The APC chieftains also pledged their support for both Tinubu and Alli in 2027.

Political analysts believe that the presentation of Alli to Tinubu effectively ends the ambition of the immediate-past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who resigned from the Federal Executive Council (FEC) nursing a high hope of becoming the next governor of Oyo State.
