…Tinubu tells Sanwo-Olu at Pen Cinema Bridge unveiling

National leader of all All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Friday, commended Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for completing the construction of Pen Cinema Dual Carriageway flyover Bridge.
Tinubu, who was present at the unveiling, said the governor has not let the party (APC) down for choosing him as the governor.
According to him, though some party followers doubted the capability of Sanwo-Olu when he was chosen as the governorship candidate of the party in 2018; his performances since he became governor has proved doubters wrong.
Tinubu said he has no regret with the choice of Sanwo-Olu, adding he is satisfied with his performances so far.
He further said the mistakes of the Ambode’s administration necessitated the choice of Sanwo-Olu as governor.
“I want to say thank you on behalf of Lagosians for the fact that you did not let us down. In 2017/2018, the ship of the State seemed to be heading in the wrong direction.
“The elections came and we chose democratically the government of the people for our people. They asked ‘who is this Sanwo-Olu?’ We know Hamzat, but we told them there are things they will find out about him. Ever since, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has become the captain of the ship of the State, and you have turned it to progress and show good leadership.
“You have demonstrated determination to redevelop and rebuild on the quality of life of our people,” Tinubu said.
The party leader added that the partnership of Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Obafemi Hamzat as deputy has turned the fortune of the State around for good.
“Instead of showing frustration, you have showcased where there is a focused government, no matter economic turbulence you run into, you can bring prosperity. “We thank you for not letting us down and for being who you are and what we believed you were before election.”
Tinubu canvassed for cordial relationship between the Executive and Legislature.
He also commended the leadership of the party in the State for ‘discovering talents and not destroying talents.’
“When the government and legislature collaborate, we will bring the fruits of government to our people. We are APC, seekers of talents. We don’t destroy talents, we develop them. We fish for them and that is what we found in Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat.”
Tinubu urged the youths to ensure peace reins in the State, stressing: “Destruction will not let you reach the destination that you aspire to reach.”
