The authorities of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have instructed students to return to campus on Sunday, October 23, 2022 following the suspension of the eight-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
Spokesman of the University, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, announced the resumption date in Benin.
She said: “UNIBEN’s Senate has amended the institution’s 2020/2021 academic calendar and approved Sunday, October 23, 2022, for students to return to halls of residence.
“Online registration of new students admitted for the 2021/2022 academic session begins on December 2.”
Ehanire quoted UNIBEN’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lilian Salami, as soliciting the cooperation and support of staff and students, to ensure successful academic activities.
