An Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has sentenced Yemi Adeola and Femi Adeyemo to death for armed robbery.
Delivering judgment on Friday, Justice Omolara Adeyemi, held that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.
“I hereby find them guilty as charged and sentence them to death,” she said.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mrs. Seun Ademola-Salami, told the court that the convicts and others at large, on November 27, 2018, at House 2, Dende Bovas Garage, off Iyana Eku, Larodo, Ibadan, conspired to commit felony with armed robbery.
This, she said, contravened the provisions of Section 6(b) of the Robbery and Firearms Acts, laws of federation, 2010.
She said the convicts attempted to attack and rob Akinyemi Olanrewaju of his cell phone worth N5,000, N150,000 cash and recharge cards.
The offence, she said, is punishable under Section 5(2) of the Robbery and Firearms laws, 2010.
