The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, Abia State, has sacked Mr. Amobi Ogah, the Labour Party (LP) member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
The tribunal, in a judgment on Wednesday, declared Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha the authentic winner of the February 25 National Assembly election in Isukwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency.
Nkiru Onyejeocha is the current Minister of State, Labour & Employment.
In its judgment, the tribunal, after re-computing the votes cast polling unit by polling unit, found out that Hon Onyejiocha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 11,936, while Amobi Ogah of Labour Party scored 9,738.
Consequently, the tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Ogah and reissue same to the petitioner, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.
