There was no explosion at Rivers APC governorship rally, Police clarify

The Police in Rivers State have debunked reports that a twin explosion rocked the political campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, which was attended by its governorship candidate, Mr. Tonye Cole, and others.

Spokesperson of the Rives State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, declared Thursday in Port Harcourt that there was no explosion at the venue of the rally, adding that the party fared peacefully.

Iringe-Koko explained that fracas had ensued around the venue of the rally, adding however, that it was between members of the community that own the playground rented by the APC for the campaign.
