The Mutfwang touch: Transforming Plateau State

In the heart of Nigeria lies Plateau State, a land known for its peace and tourism, now undergoing a remarkable transformation. At the helm of this transformation is Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang. In just 16 months, his vision, leadership, and commitment to good governance have brought profound changes across sectors. Today, we take a closer look at how his actions are improving the lives of Plateau’s citizens.

Roads are the lifeblood of a community, connecting people, goods, and services. For years, many of Plateau State’s roads were in disrepair, stalling economic growth and frustrating the movement of goods. But Governor Mutfwang, driven by the people’s voice, has made road infrastructure one of his top priorities.

“We faced immense challenges with the Utonkon-Nunku-Keana link road, but under Governor Mutfwang’s leadership, the road was completed, benefiting thousands of citizens. The impact has been immediate—traffic now flows freely, and local businesses are thriving.”

The completion of the 9km span flyover bridge, connecting NASCO and Abattoir communities, is one of the most celebrated accomplishments of this administration. The bridge has eased traffic congestion, facilitating movement across the city.

“This bridge has changed everything. Before, it would take hours to get across this area, especially during market days. Now, it’s quick, and people are happy. It’s brought life back to the city.”

In addition to the flyover, other critical road projects have been completed or are in progress, such as the Farin-Gada-Polo Roundabout and the Zololo Junction road. These projects are creating durable networks that are reshaping transportation in the Jos-Bukuru metropolis.

Security is paramount to the growth of any state. Governor Mutfwang recognizes this, especially in Plateau State’s rural communities, where access has been a challenge. In an effort to boost security, the Governor distributed over 100 motorcycles to various agencies, alongside raincoats and boots to aid operations in difficult terrains.

“Governor Mutfwang’s support has greatly enhanced our ability to patrol and protect communities in rural areas. We can now reach remote villages more effectively and ensure the safety of our people.”

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to ensure peace and stability across the state. Governor Mutfwang’s investment in advanced technology for security operations has positioned Plateau as a safer environment for both residents and investors.

Access to quality healthcare is a cornerstone of any thriving society. In Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang is ensuring that even the most remote areas have access to life-saving medical care. The commissioning of the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency marks a significant step towards achieving universal health coverage in the State.

“With the establishment of this state-of-the-art warehouse, we are ensuring that essential medicines and vaccines are always available. This will improve the health outcomes of our people, especially in the rural areas.”

The launch of the Plateau State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (PLASEMSAS) is another initiative that is saving lives. Six new ambulances have been deployed to provide emergency healthcare at no cost for the first 48 hours, breaking financial barriers during critical moments.

“We’ve already seen the impact of the new ambulances. They arrive quickly, and the free emergency care has saved lives that might have otherwise been lost.”

Governor Mutfwang’s diplomatic efforts are yielding tangible results. His strategic partnerships with international organizations have led to donations of medical supplies valued at over $400,000 for the Plateau Specialist Hospital. This intervention is improving healthcare delivery across the State.

“I am grateful for the international support we’ve received. This is just the beginning of our journey to make Plateau a hub for medical tourism in Nigeria.”

The governor’s vision to establish a medical faculty and a state-of-the-art teaching hospital in Plateau State University, Bokkos, is also underway, signaling a brighter future for healthcare in Plateau.

Governor Mutfwang has only just begun. His administration’s commitment to road infrastructure in the rural area is commendable, particularly the Timjaghas-Fomulam-Foholmwor-Dengu Larpiya road road project with a spur Foholmwor to Ampang West on Mangu Local GovernmentArea. The road is bringing back much relief to the people who are mostly into agriculture.

His dedication to security, and healthcare is paving the way for a prosperous Plateau State. Citizens are optimistic about the future, and the Governor is resolute in his mission to uplift every community, leaving no one behind.

“Governor Mutfwang is a man of his word. We’ve seen roads, healthcare, and security improve. We believe that with his leadership, Plateau State will become even better.”

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s leadership is shaping a new chapter for Plateau State. His developmental strides in infrastructure, healthcare, and security stand as a testament to his dedication to the people. The journey continues, and the future looks bright for Plateau State.
