Tenant in police net for defiling landlady’s 13 year-old-daughter

The police in Rivers State have arrested a man simply identified as Jeffrey – who is believed to be in his 30s – for allegedly defiling his landlady’s 13-year-old daughter.

The incident happened in an Estate close to a Federal Government College, Abuloma, in Port Harcourt Local Government Area.

Reports said the suspect, who owns a tailoring shop in the Estate, allegedly lured the landlady’s daughters to his shop one evening on the pretense of showing her a dress, adding that he locked the shop, and forcibly had carnal knowledge of the teenage girl.

The suspect was arrested on April 19, 2024, after the girl reported the assault to her mother.

Reports further said that medical examination conducted on the minor indicated that she had been defiled.

The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko, confirmed the arrest of the suspect.

She added that the case has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID, Port Harcourt for discreet investigation.
